James Lee Woodruff, age 63 of Ravenna, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born September 24, 1951, in Akron, Ohio, to parents William D. and Barbara Ann (Wilson) Woodruff. Jim graduated from Ravenna High School in 1970. James traveled several paths throughout life. He was an inventor who held several patents, had a passion for race car driving, sailing, and spending quality time with his family. Throughout it all, he was a musician and a luthier who built his own brand of guitars, known as "Woody James Guitars".

He was born September 24, 1951, in Akron, Ohio, to parents William D. and Barbara Ann (Wilson) Woodruff. Jim graduated from Ravenna High School in 1970. James traveled several paths throughout life. He was an inventor who held several patents, had a passion for race car driving, sailing, and spending quality time with his family. Throughout it all, he was a musician and a luthier who built his own brand of guitars, known as "Woody James Guitars".

James was a devout Buddhist and traveled worldwide. Most of all, he was a proud and loving father, devoted to his family. Until the time of his passing, James was always dedicated to quality of life, and never took it for granted.

James is survived by his wife Lori Woodruff, his three daughters: Sarah, Brittany, and Matisse Woodruff, his grandson Colin Faehner, and his beloved Lab "Bodhi". His memory will also be cherished by brothers: Don (Kathy) Woodruff, Jeff (Jill) Woodruff, and Scott (Nancy) Woodruff, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Nancy (Trexler) Woodruff, who passed away on March 26, 1982.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Windmill Lakes Golf Club, 6544 State Route 14, Ravenna. Please RSVP with the family at (330) 296-9622.
